I was just looking at the video of highlights where Man Utd. beat Roma 7-1. There are two things that we could think about:
- Look at Carrick’s two bombs from outside the box. I am hoping that our midfielders take those kind of shots. Visualizing is key!
- The other goal that I think is truly instructive is Ronaldo's first goal. Notice how he collects the ball on the right side of the field with space in front of him to charge down the field. BUT he does not move into the hole and put the ball across, he prefers to run at the goal diagonally (ie he heads straight toward the defender). The defender now no can no longer think of coming to track him. The defender is pinned. Then he cuts and scores.
